JustCruisin with Mick & Sally
Австралия
Добавлен 11 май 2020
As of today (10/07/2023) our lives have changed forever for we are now officially grey nomads which brings the freedom to travel when and where we like. No longer will we be running our trips to a scheduled date of return to go back to work. With so many trips in the pipeline, we are looking forward to our adventures around Australia.
Our videos are all about the locations that we go to and not about us, for this reason alone you will not see us in front of the camera very much at all.
If you wish, you can also have a look at our videos that show some of the things that we have done to our caravan & tow vehicle that make life just that bit easier when out and about.
Fresh content will be uploaded every second Friday afternoon at 5:00pm South Australian time or more often when we are out traveling.

Hi Mick. Just found your channel and subscribed. I was there April 23 and did all of those drives and would love to get there again. I am wondering what drone you have. Great vision. I had a mavic air 2 for that trip but now have a mini 3 pro to give better location options being sub 250g. Trade off is doesn't like strong wind. Geoff
Thanks for the sub. We use a DJI - Air S2 Drone, great piece of equipment.
Just thinking about a trip to Burra with the lovely wife and this video pops up. Certainly looks like a great place to visit. Thanks for the video Mick.
Cheers, e head back there in just over a week's time, great spot during the cooler months🙂
At least there's no crocs in the Finnis
Got that right👍
It's sad there are no regional railways left
For sure, plus there is so much rail history in Australia that isn't being preserved at all.
Hey guys, great video! Did you ever put together a map of your travels with the various free camp sites you used? It would be handy for new adventures like us who are starting to think about buying a van and tow vehicle and set off across the west
No sorry, this footage was collected just prior to us even considering starting our own RUclips Chanel. Our latest videos possibly show what you are referring to but sadly not in this one👍 WikiCamps will show you most of the great camps sites across Australia if you haven't already looked at it. Enjoy your van when you get one🙂
Been to quite a few places in Australia keep coming back to SA though. Find it funny the eastern states used to bag SA then they discovered how good it was during covid. Some of the best beaches going around
Could not agree more.
My old in laws used to live at Normanville caravan park they loved it
The in-laws would have enjoyed a great climate during their time there. Unfortunately I think for me, it gets too crowded now during the warmer months now to enjoy it as much as it once was.
Lived in Normanville for a couple of years. Then Warooka on the yorkes now goolwa beach. Qld in between. SA has some of the best beaches in Australia. Sadly the eastern states discovered SA during covid😂
Sounds like you have lived in some very spectacular locations. SA has so much to offer others within one state that we find it remarkable.
It's interesting how the western side of the fleurieu is so calm but head to goolwa way has some big surf sometimes
It must be something to do with the direction that the ocean currents flow within the areas around the Peninsula. Great that there is such a difference within a very short distance🙂
Riverton seems to be one of those towns forgotten by city people. It is a lovely town. My grandmother was born there.
Not too many small country towns fail to impress during a visit. There is a lot of history to be preserved here at Riverton.
Gday Mick, we did Echuca in 2021 during the COVID 19 Pandemic, not sure how but the paddle steamers was brilliant as was the Holden Museum 😮
We love Echuca, never disappointment us during any of our visits there👍
Tremendously, I enjoyed the videos/trips/scenery, I enjoyed it all, Mick. Thank you for sharing it with me. I'm subbed, left a thumbs up, and a tap on the bell, in hopes of seeing more. I'll be watching for them.
Nice to see you have subscribed but unfortunately for you I have retired from the workforce so I will not be able to make anymore videos like these.
In the Southwest United States it's called a "Cattle Guard".
Fair enough👍
Out of curiosity, in this part of Australia are there Gators and/or Crocs? I appreciate all the information I can get about your country.
Australia has crocodiles from Katherine in the Northern Territory up to Darwin. If you look at Katherine on a map of Australia and draw a line to the east coast and west coast from Katherine, anything north of that line would be considered crock country.
These trips are very interesting, I'm a resident here in Flint, Michigan, usa, I noticed back a few klicks, a Kmart sign, they've all but moved out of a good part of the usa. I've never been to Australia but always wanted to. Your videos have great content, there's so much to see in Australia. I thank you again for sharing your travels with all of us.
Kmart is still a very strong store at the moment here is Australia. Glad that you enjoyed the video🙂
Hello Mick, Just to say, I did enjoy the ride, wish I could make a few more. I didn't realize it was going to be so silent when I retired and I'm looking for something to do to fill in the slack time. I might look for some part time drives. Thanks for letting me ride along with you I did enjoy it. You be safe.
We hit that slow lane when we retire, that is for sure. Enjoy what you do and likewise, keep safe.
It’s extremely dry down here now.
We were a little surprised to hear while we were there that it was so dry. It is a bit different for us coming from South Australia where it is not normally as green as Tasmania. Lets hope that the seasons soon get back to normal.
Love pt Hughes caught my first salt-water fish there back in the 60s.E joy your videos immensely, cheers. 😊😊
Years ago we used to take the boat & tent to Port Hughes and set it up in the Caravan Park where the now boat ramp trailer parking is located.
Another great episode mick
Thanks, glad you liked it👍
WOW what a great place, thanks for the heads up!
It is a beautiful location👍
Mick, are you still utilising 2 UHF CBs in the new rig?
Unfortunately no, not since we have had the Landcruiser.
I was born in Barmera in '74 (grew up in Loveday) Mum and that side of my family from Renmark - Dad from Cobby (Cobdogla). Learnt to swim in Lake Bonney. one of my besties lives in renmark north and when it was flooded the only way i could recognise renmark was locations like renmark hospital etc and the roadways had become rivers. I now live in Adelaide but go home at least once a year. can take a girl out of the country but cant take the country out of the girl.
The Riverland is such a great place to visit let alone live there🙂
Mmmmm - vlog for thought - Q/landers due in October - Yorke P for a break away? Great intro to P. H. Park💙 By the way note Jan is Adelaide - home after 4+ months in Q😊 Thanks happy& safe travels
Great to read that you are now home🙂Hope the Q/landers enjoy if the get onto the Peninsula.
What alternative accommodation would you recommend to Wilpena resort
An alternative to Wilpena Pound Campground would be Rawnsley Park Station. Both locations have powered sites with water hook up if requires as well as unpowered sites. Our choice between the two would be Rawnsley Park but there are others withing close proximity of Wilpena Pound of which we have never stopped at.
Yorkes is awesome
Sure is, so much to see and do on the Yorkes👍
I love Pt Hughes.
It is a very nice spot to go to🙂
Have you guys bought a new tow vehicle 😮
Yes we purchased a Landcruiser last November, hopefully there will be a video coming out on it shortly which will explain why we have changed our vehicle.
Thanks for your great work again really enjoy them. Hopefully you aren't there with the bad weather.
Glad you enjoyed the video. We were very lucky with the weather while we were there with sunshine most of the time and very little wind.
Nice piece guys, thanks.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video🙂
What a lovely video. It is a beautiful area.
Thanks, we like any water view. I think we will have to go there during the summer period one time.
Great video. Very envious as we were planning to be there around this time but as always, life gets in the way. Always next year I guess.
Hopefully you will make it next time👍
Great video Mick, it's a nice place with a beautiful sunset included 👍
Thank you, a very nice when the wind doesn't blow🙂
Thanks for the video, another trip added to the bucket list! 😀
Great location to visit, enjoy your time when you go there.🙂
I have to ask, what is a traveler/owner?
If I am on the right track here with this one, most caravan owners have a Facebook page or something similar where the owners of the same make caravan join to form a group. We are a member of the Traveller Caravan group which has a Facebook page for owners of Traveller caravans to become a member of and share different locations that they travel to and ideas on what is better for caravan improvements.
@@justcruisinwithmicksally837 now I see.
Way way back in the late 40's into 50's my parents went crabbing at Port Broughton , was good fun until a crab came at me.
Yep, crabbing has it's moments that is for sure😄
seems basic enuff?
Yep, not too hard👍
Loved the drone footage of the silo art 👌
Cheers🙂
Enjoying all you videos and finding your info very handy. Can you tell me what trip planner or app etc that you use to show the journey with the little car and caravan on your videos please? Would like to do same for the family to follow our trips
The app that we use to show the map with the moving car is called TravelBoast.
@@justcruisinwithmicksally837 Thank You Cheers
Thanks guys, more great locations :)
Our pleasure!
Nice to spend nice weekend in a nice place. Thanks for sharing.
Even though the place was fully booked out, it was a small crowd for such a large area making it a great weekend.
Great video…. We’re heading there this coming weekend 🇦🇺
Have a great time when you get there, it should be nice at this time of the year🙂👍
Hi Mike, Another good place to look forward to if we get back over to SA. Do you miss the long haul driving to Darwin every week?
I have to admit that I do miss the Darwin drive each week. I have a love for the outback as well as I was working with a great driving partner when I gave it away, making it hard to walk away from and not miss it.
Good to have you back. Love it when you're cruising my old stomping grounds.Cheers😊😊
Lots to see in your stomping ground👍
Nothing like an open fire on a still cold night. Beautiful sunset shot
Wood supply for the fire is always the worry but not on this trip, was nice🙂
Well done, Mick. Love watching your videos. Keep um coming.
Cheers👍 Glad you are enjoying them🙂
Great content there. Mick really enjoyed your time with your videos that come out, and thank you very much for creating and sharing with us. From William.
My pleasure!
Another great video Mick and Sally. South Australia is a beautiful place….happy caravanning! Waiting for your next trip best wishes from Norm and Jenny 🆒🇦🇺🌸😀
Thank you Norm & Jenny, if only summer would get here sooner rather than later.
Some great views , farming land was awesome and your family who farms do a magnificent job. Being able to pick up like you do and go where you please is such an inspiring tale . Thankyou . The places you show us have overcome hard times and are moving on and adapting is also such a wonder . Again thankyou . Stay safe and enjoy 🐾🫶❤️
We enjoy our time now that we are able to go where and when we like. Earning a living on the land has changed so much over the last 30 or so years, times are tough some seasons.
Haha. I worked out why you went and visited M n S! You made good use of the firewood supply. Good thinking. As others said, another good video
Hmmmmm, the wood we got from M n S some 12 months ago. We took it home and cut it to size only to bring it back again😃 I can hear your mind ticking over from here👍
😂…..not quite how it was with the wood.
